Winston Alpha+ - single handed fly rod

Winston Alpha+, a series of rods designed for the alpha fish lurking in the water. Fish-eating trout, perch, pike and other predators are species that this fly rod handles with gusto. The Winston Alpha+ has a very fast action and is designed to get the fly out quickly with minimal false casts. In this series, Winston has specified a recommended line weight in grains instead of recommending a class of line. This is to eliminate the confusion that occurs with the ropes that are outclassed both once and twice. Simply match the recommended line weight of your Winston Alpha+ fly rod with a fly line of the correct weight. See table below.

Winston Alpha+ Class #5: The fastest Class #5 fly rod Winston makes. This fly rod turns over heavy “dry-dropper” rigs, streamers and indicator rigs. A very good streamer rod for your fly fishing for trout, rainbow, grayling and char. Recommended line weight of 160-200 grains.

Winston Alpha+ Grade #6: This fly rod is designed for carnivorous fish. This class #6 fly rod handles heavy flies and lines, think mouse imitations, sinking lines and articulated streamers. If you are looking for a streamer rod for your trout fishing, look no further, Winston Alpha+ is the answer. Recommended line weight of 200-240 grains.

Winston Alpha+ Class #7: Designed to cast really big flies, heavy lines and fight heavy fish. Recommended line weight of 240-280 grains.

Winston Alpha+ class #8: A good choice for those looking for a fly rod for salmon fishing on a low summer river and predator fishing in our Swedish lakes. Recommended line weight of 280-330 grains.

Winston Alpha+ Class #9 and #10: Fly rods for the very biggest fish. The perfect choice for your fly fishing for pike and other predators. Of course also fantastic rods for tropical fishing. Line Weight #9 has a recommended line weight of 330-380 grains and grade #10 380-430 grains.
