Description
Orvis Hydros is a fly reel with Large Arbor construction that provides fast reeling in up to 12% faster than other comparable reels. The Hydros rollers have a braking system where the braking surface increases with the size of the roller and the bigger the roller, the stronger the brake. Using graphite discs that are stacked on top of each other in a fully encapsulated brake, the brake can be fine-tuned to work for both trout and salmon fishing. Add there that the brake has "zero start-up inertia". The relatively narrow large spool means that the weaving speed is increased while achieving an even line lay-up.
